Carbon Assessment Expert

Our mission is to assist small businesses in assessing their carbon footprint, particularly Scope 1 emissions, and then provide access to a marketplace for purchasing carbon credits. We aim to contribute to global efforts in reducing greenhouse gases through smart technology solutions. At this stage, we require an expert in carbon assessment and data integration who can guide us in understanding and implementing the technical aspects of Scope 1 emissions data collection without relying heavily on direct user input.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a methodology for automatically assessing Scope 1 carbon emissions for small businesses using technical integrations.
• Advise on the types of data required for accurate Scope 1 emissions calculation and how to obtain this data through integrations with common business software and systems.
• Work with our tech team to implement integrations and algorithms that accurately calculate emissions.
• Ensure the methodology aligns with international standards for carbon accounting and reporting.
• Provide insights into the development of a user-friendly platform that simplifies the carbon assessment process for small businesses.
• Help in setting up a framework for connecting the assessment platform to a marketplace for carbon credits.

Requirements

• Proven experience in carbon accounting, particularly in Scope 1 emissions.
• Strong understanding of greenhouse gas protocols and relevant environmental regulations.
• Experience in integrating and analyzing data from various business software and systems.
• Ability to translate complex environmental data into actionable insights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
• A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
